pullups are the new pushup

I've been on a pullup craze lately. I'm up to 7. We have a bar here at home, and I just crank out sets through the day.

We got some new info about pushups from a guy we know in the army (he can do 84 in a row). He described a workout fairly similar to the one we were all doing. His regimen:

1st set; hands shoulder with apart, using perfect form; as many as you can do in 1 min.
take a minute rest.
2nd set; new stance: place hands really wide; and as many as you can do in 1 min.
minute rest.
3rd set; hands really close together, isolating the triceps; as many as you can do in 1 min.
now, take a longer break: 4-5 min. drink a little water.

repeat above, this time doing as many as you can do in 45 sec.
repeat again, this time doing as many as you can in 30 sec.

Similar, but he said he had great results (after 4 months of 3 days a week). The apparent strength of this program is that it isolates different groups with each set. I'll probably give it a shot. Anyone else in?
